Raspberry leaf tea is that tea they tell you to drink when you are pregnant and your well-meaning mother shoves a bag of it in your hands. Yes, that’s the one. Nobody tells you why in the world you should drink it. Keep reading, and I promise you will be drinking it by the gallon.

How to make tea…
Let’s make some tea. Get your water on to boil. I just boil mine on the stove because I don’t have a fancy teapot. You need about 1 teaspoon of dried raspberry leaf to one cup of water. Pour boiling water over raspberry leaves and let steep for about 10 minutes. Strain.
This tea is very mild. If you want it stronger, add another teaspoon of dried raspberry leaf. Though in the herb world, less is more. It is best to drink warm. If you are pregnant, drink 2 or 3 cups every day.
An amazing thing about this tea is its profound effect on the labor and delivery process. Women that drink it regularly during pregnancy have shorter and easier labors. Like labor is easy, but anyway. Rates of C-section go down. Which is good for both mom and baby.
When you keep drinking this tea after baby is born, breast milk is higher in nutrients. This is beneficial to putting baby on a good feeding schedule allowing longer intervals between feedings. Now mom can sleep at night instead of feeding all night. Win, win.
I love the fact that it regulates women’s hormones, especially during PMS. Most women battle this every month. Battling the symptoms and dealing with life can get challenging at times. Boyfriends, husbands, and co-workers get
the brunt of it. So pass out the raspberry leaf tea!
How many people do you know that suffer from arthritis? Maybe you do. Even though I consider myself young, I have arthritis as a result of some car accidents I’ve been in. Raspberry leaf tea targets that inflammation, easing that pain.
And let’s not leave out the children. Some herbs are not safe for children, but this one is not one of them. And stomachaches seem to be a kid’s common complaint. Have them drink some of this tea. There’s no bad medicine taste.
