Lemon Ginger Soda :Sugar Free:

Being sugar free can be kind of boring at times when it comes to summer drinks. I wish I could say that I don’t like soda or crave it, but that would be lying. I enjoy a good cherry coke.

I have been trying to be VERY good and remain sugar free but I am getting tired of drinking just water when I want something refreshing.

We have a (affiliate link) Soda Stream, which is great for making soda at home. Bubbly water makes drinks fun.

I’ve started playing with combinations of things that would make a soda flavor and that is how I came up with the lemon ginger soda. It lemon gives it a ‘sprite’ feeling while the ginger gives it a kick.

I use (affiliate link) Just like Sugar made from chicory root but you could easily you stevia or even honey for that matter if you aren’t avoiding sugar.

And, you totally need a (affiliate link) stainless steel straw. For real. I never thought I’d love a straw as much as a do. But, when it is used in an ice drink, it just makes every sip so nice and cold. I love it. (And they come with a little brush that makes them easy to clean.)

To juice the ginger, I use a garlic press but you can use what ever tool you have handy. (I don’t even peel it!)

Recipe type: Beverage
A sugar free soda recipe.
  • 3 cups of carbonated water
  • juice from one lemon
  • juice from one piece of ginger (About ½ inch)
  • 1 tbsp of Just like Sugar (Or sweeten to your liking)
  • pinch of sea salt
  • ice
  1. Fill a quart jar with ice and pour ingredients over ice.
  2. Stir well and enjoy!

A refreshing drink for summer with a kick…that won’t effect your blood sugar levels!

    My favorite juice for kicinkg a cold is carrot/beet/spinach/garlic/ginger. And for everyday, I love love love kale/celery/apple/lemon/ginger. You are making me want to bust out my juicer right now!
