I’m a wuss when it comes to headaches. I can’t stand them. I know if I can’t get them under control quickly enough, I get sick to my stomach. I honestly will resort to OTC stuff because I hate getting sick.
We went to see fireworks last night and got home rather late. I could feel a headache coming on and I wanted to be able to sleep. I decided to skip any attempt to try and fix it with supplements and was headed for the Ibuprofen.
I stopped and saw some of my new essential oils sitting on my counter and thought about using peppermint. I have tried using peppermint in the past and it hasn’t relieved a headache at all.
I applied and really enjoyed the scent of the peppermint. I was careful not to get it too close to my eyes. Trust me on that one, too close and you’ll feel it!
It’s also important to wash your hands when you are done working with essential oils. You don’t want to rub your eye or change a diaper when you have oil residue left on them. Your family will thank me if you always remember to do that.
I started to get ready for bed and within in a few minutes, I realized my headache was much less intense.
Within ten minutes, the headache was gone! Woohoo!
I am really enjoying learning about essential oils, not just about what the oil can do for you, but how to apply them. It really makes a world of difference. I am having much more success with oil now that I have learned more about them.
Oils are strong and you should take care while applying them. Some can be applied directly to the skin while others needs to be put in a carrier oil. Most of the oils I use on my children I take care to dilute on them.
Oils can also be too much for a person with sensory issues so take caution when attempting to use them.
What are your favorite oils? What’s your favorite use for them?
