Cheeseburger in a Bowl

Who doesn’t love a good cheeseburger? Well, my kids. Yup. They do not like burgers. They will eat ground beef but do not do burger pattys. I’m assuming it’s a texture issue as they are not picky eaters.

I was inspired by the Trim Healthy Mama recipe for Cheeseburger Casserole on this one. (The book is loaded with fun recipes!)

So, we do cheeseburger in a bowl. This is yummy, easy and you can make it however you like!

First things first, fry up your ground beef. I season mine with Real Salt Organic Onion Salt and garlic powder. Throw in a hand full of finely chopped onions, a few diced tomatoes and if you’re not serving a young crowd that whine about hot things, some pickled jalapenos.

SimplyHealthyHome-Cheeseburger in a BowlFry that until done and then drain the fat.

Now is the fun part! The toppings. I usually have chopped up pickles, onions, tomatoes, bacon and shredded cheddar cheese. For condiments, we’re all different. I love homemade ranch dressing. The kids love ketchup and mayo. My husband loves mustard and hot sauce.

So, after you drain the meat of fat, put in bowls and allow everyone to top their own. It’s fun and you can be creative.

If you are a Trim Healthy Mama, this is an S dinner.

If you have kids that don’t need to be on plan, serve over rice. I usually have mine over lettuce as I add veggies where ever I can!

This is also fun for kids and is PERFECT when you have a family over that is gluten free.

This looks delicious! My man would LOVE the jalapenos. I’m thinking these would be fun to eat as lettuce wraps too. :) Thanks for linking up!
